Q. I have very dry skin with blackheads. What do you recommend?
I would recommend our Refining/Anti-Wrinkle Cleanser and Toner, the Microdermabrasion Scrub (3 times a week), and the Refining/Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A and Green Tea Moisturizer. I believe these will be a great fit for your needs!
Q. I have sensitive skin, dehydrated skin. I also breakout occasionally. Currently, I use the Very Clear Cleanser and Moisturizer. Am I on the right path for my skin condition?
A. Here is what I would suggest: Age-Defying Cleanser (very gentle cleanser that will not strip your skin and helps to remove makeup), Refining Toner (helps to reduce enlarged pores and minimize breakouts), Soothing Moisturizing Crème (lightweight cream that will help balance sensitive skin and soothe any irritation) and the Microdermabrasion Scrub 2x a week (very fine grain scrub that will help unblock pores). You can continue to use the Very Clear Moisturizer on your problem areas. For any dry patches, I would suggest the Soothing Facial Treatment Oil. It will not break you out and will provide extra nourishment and hydration. Apply a drop or two on any problem areas after applying your moisturizer of choice. I hope you have success!
Q. I tend to have forehead small bumps pimples under the skin and sometimes all over face. What can cause that and how can I treat it.
A. Small bumps on the forehead are most likely caused from sweat and a lack of proper exfoliation. I would suggest our Very Clear line. Use the cleanser 2x a day, every day, and the moisturizer at night. Use our Microdermabrasion Scrub 2-3 times a week to gently exfoliate away dead skin cells. During the day, try our Soothing Oil-Free Moisturizer.
Q. I have Combination and Sensitive skin. I would like to try your full range of product. What would you recommend?
A. For sensitive skin, I would recommend our products the in Soothing line. This line will help to reduce visible redness and irritation while calming and comforting the skin. All the products are great for combination skin, as they are all considered lightweight. If you have oily skin, try the Serum, and if you have combo/dry skin, try the Moisturizing Crème.
Q. I have adult acne and roseca, I also have oily skin. What products would work well to help with the reddness and prevent future break outs?
A. I would suggest using the Very Clear Cleanser twice a day, the Very Clear Moisturizer at night, and the Soothing Serum during the day to address rosacea. The key to help prevent future break-outs is to be consistent with thep products that you use and to maintain a regular skincare routine.
Q. I'm allergic to both benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. I’m looking for products that work well for my blemish-prone skin.
A. Tea Tree is a potent antibacterial, antifungal, and natural antiseptic. You can use our Tea Tree and E Face and Body Wash as your cleanser paired with either the Tea Tree and E Crème or the Skinbiotics Crème for your moisturizer to fight blemishes. As with any new products, we recommend you do a patch test first.
Q. Why do I need to exfoliate?
While cleansing and toning are necessary to keep the skin clean, exfoliating once or twice a week works to remove excess dead skin. This process helps to stimulate healthy surface renewal, prevent clogged pores and enable moisturizers to work at peak performance, leaving skin with a healthy, radiant glow. Q. What does AHA and BHA stand for and do I need to use them?
AHA stands for Alpha Hydroxy Acid and BHA stands for Beta Hydroxy Acid. Examples of AHA’s are glycolic, lactic, malic, tartaric and citric. BHA is otherwise known as Salicylic Acid. AHA’s are water soluble and BHA is lipid soluble.
Both AHA’s and BHA are excellent options for exfoliating the surface of skin as well as helping to reduce wrinkles, encourage the production of collagen, and firm skin.
AHA’s are best suited for sun-damaged or dry skin. BHA is best suited for oily, blemish-prone skin. BHA is also a gentle anti-inflammatory, helping to decrease redness or irritation associated with blemish-prone skin.
derma e® Overnight Peel features a 5% mix of Glycolic, Lactic and Malic Acids. The Very Clear® line features Salicylic Acid which helps to unclog pores and aid in reducing redness in blemish-prone skin. Q. What is your skincare advice for men? Do they need to use different products?
Because men have facial hair, they are prone to razor burn and ingrown hairs. The best remedy to prevent irritation and encourage clear, healthy skin is to use a combination of our Microdermabrasion Scrub, two to three times a week, with our Tea Tree and E Antiseptic Crème as a post-shave moisturizer.
