Keep reading to learn the many benefits of pumpkin in skincare!
Anti-aging benefits
Pumpkin contains both Vitamin C and beta-carotene, a precursor of Vitamin A. Vitamin A helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and rough texture. Combined, the skin is smoothed, and collagen is strengthened.
Facial Masks
Pumpkin can work as a highly effective facial mask. Pumpkin facial masks can help to brighten skin and diminish the look of dark spots.
Ingredients:
2 Tbsp organic canned pumpkin puree or 1 small pumpkin
1/2 tsp organic honey
1/2 tsp milk (I used skim, but you can substitute soy or almond)
Directions
1: Cleanse skin with your favorite DERMA E facial cleanser.
2: Mix pumpkin puree, organic honey, and vegan milk in a bowl. If using a fresh pumpkin, remove the seeds. Mix to a creamy pulp with honey and milk.
3: Apply the mask using your clean fingers or a mask applicator brush.
4: Allow the mask to set for 15- 30 minutes.
5: Rinse the mask with warm water and follow with your favorite DERMA E serum and then moisturizer.
Brightening
Pumpkin is highly effective at brightening the skin. Pumpkin is enriched with alpha hydroxy acids and fruit enzymes which can help to remove dead skin, leaving skin brighter and younger-looking.
Fights free radicals
Free radicals can speed up the aging process. Beta-carotene and Vitamin C found in pumpkin can both fight free radicals found in the skin.
Hydration
As Pumpkin helps to exfoliate the skin, it allows for skin to be naturally hydrated and moisturized. Our Radiance Glow Face Oil by Sunkissed Alba is enriched with pumpkin oil along with Jojoba, Argan, and Seabuckthorn oil, giving skin a brightened glow.
