Fall is almost here and it’s time to start prepping your skin for a new season. With weather changes, skin can require a different set of maintenance rules than the season before. Here are several tips and tricks to give you hydrated, healthy skin for fall.

1. Switch to a heavier moisturizer

Lighter moisturizers can be highly effective in the summertime, as wearing a thick, creamy moisturizer can be too heavy for skin in the warmer months. With temperatures becoming cooler in the fall, skin requires a thicker, heavier moisturizer. Our Ultra Hydrating Day Cream with Hyaluronic Acid is highly effective for the fall. This dermatologist recommended moisturizer works to rehydrate, smooth and soften dry, aging skin. The Hydrating collection is effective for use especially during the Fall season but can be used all year long, depending on your skin type. This clinically proven collection showed a 100% improvement in skin hydration immediately after the first application, and after 4 weeks of product use. The Hydrating collection works to plump and replenish skin with essential vitamins and botanicals. Vegan Hyaluronic Acid delivers intense moisture for healthy hydration while infused humectants work to reduce dullness, fine lines, and flakiness in this ultra-hydrating and plumping collection.

2. Limit use of exfoliants

In the summer, skin can get very oily due to excessive sun exposure, sweating and warmer weather, which can cause a need for more exfoliation. In the cooler months, skin can become drier, causing skin to require less exfoliation, and more moisture. Over-exfoliation can be damaging to skin in the cooler months and can cause dryness.

3. Use a humidifier

Humidifiers are highly effective to use in the Fall. Humidifiers help to add moisture to the air, which is essential for the drier months as skin can become drier in the fall and winterAdding your favorite essential oils to the humidifier will help add a natural fragrance to your home.

4. Use sunscreen

Many people forget the importance of wearing sunscreen in the Fall. Despite the weather not being as warm, the sun’s rays are still powerful and can cause damage to the skin. Our dermatologist recommended, award-winning, eco-friendly Sun Care collection provides UVA/UVB broad spectrum protection. Infused with soothing ingredients including soothing Aloe, Chamomile and Cucumber Extracts, Green Tea, Vitamins C & E, our Sun Care collection includes both mineral sunscreens made with Non-Nano Zinc Oxide, as well as non-mineral, high sun protection options to provide anti-aging antioxidant defense, help fight free radicals damage while nourishing the skin.

5. Stay hydrated

Staying hydrated is key in any season. When it comes to the Fall, it’s important to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water because skin can become drier in colder temperatures and greatly benefits from the extra hydration that drinking water provides. Most doctors and nutritionist recommend drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day but drinking more can be even more beneficial to skin.
