Refresh your skin this summer with these easy tips

Summer is no excuse to get lax on the skincare. In the summer months it’s imperative to keep up with your skincare routine to prevent early signs of aging, sunburn, blemishes, and discoloration. If you’ve been searching for ways to keep your skin looking youthful and refreshed this summer, keep reading for helpful tips and tricks to refresh your skin!

  1. Get a summer refresh kit

After months of sunscreen and sun exposure, the skin can become dry and rough. The Summer Refresh Skincare set can help you restore and rejuvenate your skin this summer. This set includes an Essentials Radiance Toner for a radiant complexion. Formulated with adaptogen Snow Mushroom, our pH balancing Hydrating Alkaline Cloud Cleanser helps to remove makeup, impurities, and excess oil, leaving skin softer and healthier looking, and our cult favorite  Scar Gel visibly improves the appearance of old and new scars.

 2. Exfoliate

Many people skip out on exfoliating when it comes to their skin care routine. While exfoliating should not exceed twice a week, it’s very easy to forget to do when the time comes. Exfoliating helps to remove dead skin, excessive dirt and oil and can help to prevent breakouts while evening the complexion. Our dermatologist recommended Microdermabrasion Scrub is highly effective at evening the skin tone and fighting the signs of aging.  If your skin is excessively oily exfoliating once or twice a week is fine. If you have sensitive skin, opt for once a week or every other week to exfoliate.

 3. Double cleanse your skin

Spending time in the sun as well as being more active in the summer months can lead to skin needing to be thoroughly or double cleansed. Excessive heat mixed with dirt, oil, makeup and sweat can all lead to build up, breakouts and skin issues. To keep your skin refreshed over the summer, start by cleansing with facial wipes or a facial balm. Our 100% biodegradable Vitamin C Brightening Glow Micellar Wipes work to lift away dirt, makeup and impurities, helping to pre-cleanse the skin before washing with your cleanser. Our Universal Cleansing Balm with Rosehip & Camellia Oils, Cocoa and Shea Butters instantly dissolves all makeup, dirt and excess oil buildup leaving the skin ultra-hydrated and cleansed. Once you have used either your facial wipes or cleansing balm, follow up with your favorite DERMA E cleanser.

 4. Stay hydrated

It’s very easy to get dehydrated in the hot summer months which can result in breakouts, dryness, premature aging and other skin issues. Drinking plenty of water and using products with Hyaluronic Acid can help keep skin hydrated. Our Hydrating line formulated with vegan Hyaluronic Acid helps to draw essential hydration to dry, thirsty skin. When skin is feeling dry throughout the day be sure to mist it with our easy to carry Hydrating Mist

 5. Use a SPF

You can’t have refreshed skin if your skin is sunburned, blotchy or red. To keep skin refreshed this summer, be sure to invest in a SPF for your face and body. Our reef safe Sun Defense Mineral Oil-Free Sunscreen for Face is an oil-free, lightweight, non-greasy facial formula that delivers broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection and anti-aging antioxidant defense to sun exposed skin. Our Sun Defense Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 for Body glides on evenly and absorbs quickly to provide UVA/UVB protection and anti-aging antioxidant defense to skin.

DERMA E didn’t start out in the beauty aisle or the boardroom. Instead, we began in a small health food store in Southern California. Our first product was a jar of Vitamin E 12,000 I.U. Moisturizing Cream. People were amazed at the results it had on their skin and word caught on.
