Valentine's Day is here! Prepare your Skin with an At Home Facial

Celebrating Valentine's Day with your significant other or gal pals #galentines this year? Having an at-home facial is a great way to prep and make your skin glow! Here are our top tips to achieve an amazing at home, DIY Facial.

Tip #1: Cleanse

The first step in any skincare routine is to remove your makeup and cleanse the skin of any debris or dirt. Giving yourself an at-home facial is no exception to this ruleOur fragrance-free, sulfate-free Purifying Gel Cleanser with Activated Charcoal and Marine Algae lathers away any sweat, oil and toxin buildup for a clean, refreshed, glowing complexion.

For acne-prone skin, our Acne Deep Pore Cleansing Wash with 2% Salicylic Acid, Tea Tree Oil, and Chamomile helps rid the skin of the dirt, bacteria, and excessive oil build-up that can clog pores and lead to breakouts. Its unique blend of plant-based ingredients doesn’t just help unclog pores—it also soothes and balances the skin for a remarkably clearer complexion.

Our top-selling Hydrating Gentle Cleanser is also great at cleansing the skin with no drying, aging after-effects. Infused with Vegan Hyaluronic Acid, Chamomile, Lemon Grass and Papaya plus antioxidant Vitamins A and E to gently cleanse and condition skin for a soft, smooth, dewy feel.

DERMA E’s antioxidant-rich Vitamin C Gentle Daily Cleansing Paste with Golden Turmeric and brightening Ancient Rice doubles as both a mask and a cleanser to help reduce the appearance of uneven skin tone, revealing a radiant and beautiful complexion.

Tip #2: Steam

After cleansing, use an at-home facial steamer to help open the pores and loosen any dead skin cells. This step will really make you feel like you’re at a spa, relaxing. If you don’t own a facial sauna or steamer, use a warm, damp towel to open your pores.

Tip #3: Exfoliate

Now that your pores are opened from the steam, use an exfoliator to remove any dead skin. DERMA E’s award-winning Microdermabrasion Scrub combines Dead Sea Salt and a fine-textured crystal blend to buff away dullness and smooth the look of fine lines, wrinkles, roughness, and acne scars. The result is a healthier, more youthful radiance.

Tip #4: Mask Away

After exfoliating, it’s time to mask! DERMA E’s Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask help give your skin a detox from the environmental pollutants that keep your skin from looking the best. Formulated with Activated Charcoal and natural clays this mask purges the pores of deeply rooted toxins for a complexion that glows.

Our single-use Vitamin C Brightening Clay Mask with Turmeric and Kale helps to reduce the appearance of uneven skin tone and helps to minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles. With its skin brightening properties, this mask leaves you with vibrant, healthy-looking skin.

DERMA E’s single-use Firming Clay Mask provides a cooling sensation while widely acclaimed DMAE helps the skin appear visibly firmer, lifted and smooth. The magnetic properties help pull out impurities while making the skin appear plumper. Key ingredients include clay to help draw out impurities and Adzuki Beans, nature’s favorite exfoliator, to help buff away dull, dry skin, revealing a fresh natural glow. Also enriched with Spearmint for a fresh, cooling sensation.

And feel free to take a selfie while your face mask is on, we won’t judge!

Tip #5: Tone

Using a gentle toner will help remove any traces of the mask and scrub and hydrate the surface of your skin. Our alcohol-free Essentials Radiance Toner with Glycolic AcidRosehip Extract, calming Chamomile and Aloe Vera helps to tone, tighten and brighten for a soft, smooth and luminous appearance.

Tip #6: Treat

After toning, treat any blemishes or specific problem areas by applying a spot treatment. Formulated with our 2% Salicylic Acid
Anti-Blemish complex, DERMA E’s Acne Spot Treatment addresses specific flare-ups while helping reduce redness and irritation. Our all-natural Acne Spot Treatment doesn’t leave a telltale residue and won’t dry out or irritate the skin.

Tip #7: Rehydrate

Before applying a moisturizing cream, use a nourishing oil to get your skin to glow and feel deeply hydrated. Our Radiant Glow Face Oil by SunKissAlba is formulated with skin-loving antioxidants including Jojoba Oil, Seabuckthorn Oil, and Argan Oil to help nourish and deeply moisturize the skin. For an added glow, Mica provides a natural shimmer that flatters all skin tones. This face oil isn’t greasy at all, as the skin drinks up the oils for a plumper, smoother look and feel. This hydration renews skin tone and texture and promotes a more youthful appearance. The result is incredibly touchable skin with a luminous vitality.

Tip #8: Moisturize

Last, but certainly, not least rehydrate the skin with a nourishing cream. Our Hydrating Day Cream with Vegan Hyaluronic Acid and antioxidant-rich Green Tea thoroughly moisturizes and plumps the skin to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Applying a moisturizing cream as the last step in your DIY facial helps revive the skin with maximum moisture that won’t feel heavy or greasy on your skin.

We hope these tips will help you achieve your own at-home facial that makes you feel confident in your skin this Valentine's Day!

DERMA E didn’t start out in the beauty aisle or the boardroom. Instead, we began in a small health food store in Southern California. Our first product was a jar of Vitamin E 12,000 I.U. Moisturizing Cream. People were amazed at the results it had on their skin and word caught on.
