Now that summer is here, you probably want to spend more time doing fun activities and less time covering up your blemishes. Following a good skincare routine can help prevent unwanted pimples and keep your skin looking clean and fresh. Keep reading to learn 5 steps to clear summer skin!

How to get Clear Summer Skin

Step 1: Wash your face every day with a gentle cleanser such as DERMA E's Brightening Cleanser. While an exfoliate is great for scrubbing away dead skin cells, you want to use something milder on a day-to-day basis. Start by rinsing your face in warm water. This will open up your pores and better help your cleanser do its job. Once you’ve applied your cleanser, rinse off with cool water to close those clean pores up! This helps the bacteria from re-entering your pores.

Step 2: Pat dry with a fresh towel every day. It’s important that you use a separate towel for your face then you use for your hands or body, and like any bathroom accessory, when left in a damp, humid environment, your towel could be acceptable to growing bacteria. You don’t want to dry your newly clean face with that, right?!  Hang dry your towel in a ventilated area and throw it in the laundry every 1 to 2 uses for a fresh post facewash washcloth.

Step 3: Use a spot treatment to target unwanted pimples. If you are easily prone to acne, spot treatments are great for you because they dry out the contaminated pore. Try DERMA E's Acne Spot Treatment for the best results. It because of this that we don’t recommend using it on your entire face. If you’re still having trouble with acne, take the necessary steps to reduce stress, increase water intake, and avoid salty foods. And whatever you do, don’t touch those pimples!

Step 4: After you’ve spot corrected, follow up with a Vitamin E or Tea Tree oil to keep pores disinfected and skin feeling clean. Essential oils that have Vitamin E have many benefits like: moisturizing deep within the skin, reducing signs of aging, and soothing irritated or red skin.

Step 5: Last, continue your skincare routine with your usual serum, eye cream and moisturizer. This is a great way to keep your skin looking its best!
