Winter skin problems
In the winter, skin can become extremely dry. Dry skin can lead to cracking, itchy, dull skin and can trigger flare-ups in skin disorders such as psoriasis, eczema, and rosacea. When skin conditions are triggered, it can lead to stress, which can lead to more skin issues.
Eczema, Psoriasis and Rosacea:
The dry, cold temperatures can trigger rosacea, eczema, and psoriasis flare-ups that can lead to itchy, red, cracking uncomfortable skin. If you suffer with eczema, keeping your skin well-moisturized can help to prevent eczema and psoriasis breakouts and can keep the skin feeling nourished and soothed. Recommended winter skin care routine
If you suffer from dry, sensitive, or problematic skin, you can still stay hydrated in the winter. The key is to use clean, hydrating solutions and to follow this

regimen.
1. Cleanse - Cleanse skin with a hyaluronic acid infused gentle,
hydrating cleanser in an upward circular motion.
2. Apply a toner or facial mist each time you cleanse the skin to help restore the acid mantle layer and renew skin’s hydration.
3. Exfoliate - Exfoliate the skin once a week with your favorite exfoliator to help

rid the skin of dead, dull skin cells. If you are experiencing a skin disorder flare
up, do not exfoliate as this can cause more irritation and possibly tearing in the skin.
4. Mask - Use a hydrating mask at least once a week, for extra hydration.
5. Hydrate externally - Maintain hydration with your favorite hydrating serum followed by moisturizer.
6. Hydrate internally - While our expertise is in skin care and we aren’t nutritionists, we can say that drinking plenty of water, eating fruits and vegetables high in water content and avoiding alcohol and caffeine that drains that skin can help to keep the skin hydrated in every season.

7. Travel-friendly solutions- Hands can also become extremely dry in the winter. If you suffer with dry hands, hand creams enriched with shea butter can be
highly effective at keeping skin hydrated.
8. Night time moisture- Don’t forget about your skin in the evenings. Apply
a night cream, for overnight hydration.
Skin can not only survive but thrive in the winter. The key is to have a routine set in place that will keep skin hydrated day and night. Using dermatologist recommended, clean, vegan products enriched with hydrating ingredients, can help to give you softer, smoother skin year-round.
