One of the most common mistakes you can make when cleansing is using harsh astringents, chemical peels, and overly drying face masks to soak up every last bit of shine. The problem is, if the skin is stripped from its natural oils, it goes into overdrive causing excess sebum buildup. This results in an even oilier complexion, and increases the chances of clogged pores which can cause or exacerbate acne.

So while it may seem counterintuitive to slather on facial oils when you have combination or oily skin, it actually works wonders to balance excess sebum production and prevent breakouts. There are plenty of additional benefits to incorporating facial oils into your skincare regime, as different oils all have their own special properties

Some of the most popular facial oils used to combat oily, acne prone skin is Jojoba Oil, Argan Oil, and Sea Buckthorn Oil. All three of these luxurious oils are found in DERMA E’s Radiant Glow Face Oil, which also contains concentrated nutrients and antioxidants such as vitamins E & B to soothe inflammation, diminish fine lines, and control acne breakouts.

How to Use Facial Oils

One of the most popular ways to apply face oils is to just massage two to three drops onto clean, dry skin at night before bed. However, another way to incorporate face oils into your daily skincare routine is to use an oil based cleanser instead of your current gel or cream cleanser. DERMA E’s Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil washes away dirt, makeup, and other impurities while locking in essential hydration for a healthy skin tone.

As you can see, integrating a face oil into your daily skincare routine has a wide range of benefits! Which method would you be most interested in trying for yourself? Leave a comment below to share!

  • I would like to try both to tell U the truth. I have heard this many times. I just haven’t been able to do it. I have had oily skin all my life I am 50 now and thought breakouts would be a thing of the past by now. Lol oH NO. But I try to keep them at bay. I would love to get do a complete Derma E skin care regime. I keep reading and seeing a lot of Great about the brand and the affordability of it. So far I have used a lot samples in my routine. But when I’m ready to purchase I want to purchase Derma E. Thank U so much for the info.

  • I have been struggling with my combination skin. It’s constantly breaking out and I can’t seem to make it stop. I can’t wait to give one of these oils a try!

  • I would try applying the face oil before bed. I have dry skin and oftentimes I just put on a regular moisturizer and that’s it.

  • I would love to try the nourishing rose cleansing oil! I have dry skin and often like to use moisturizer after my daily night skin care routine but I haven’t tried any oils before! This would be a great way to become familiar with something other than moisturizer 👍🏻

  • I tried to do the reward points thing, and the Instagram and Faves on Ulta aren’t working for me. The IG one just doesn’t record the points. Clicking on the Ulta one doesn’t take me anywhere. Just thought you’d want to know. I’m on a phone.

  • So, the method that appeals especially to me is cleansing with an oil cleanser. 😉
